Bulk OG cover generation from a spreadsheet: 100 images in a minute

A blog launch, a site migration, a sale with a hundred products, a series of posts planned a month ahead: covers are needed in batches, not one by one. Making each by hand is an evening of work. In OG Studio it is done from an ordinary table: one row, one image.

1. Prepare a table: each row has a headline and, optionally, a subheadline, brand, template, color and format.
2. Upload it at og-studio.online/csv: as a file, as a link to a Google Sheet, or just paste the text.
3. Look at the preview: a grid of the future covers and a table that checks every row.
4. Click “Сгенерировать ZIP” (Generate ZIP) and download an archive of PNGs: 01-zagolovok.png, 02-…. Downloading requires signing in, by email (a code arrives in your inbox) or through Telegram. It takes half a minute and is free.

An Excel table (save it as CSV) or Google Sheets will do. Name the columns in Russian or in English, in any order:

If there is no header row, the columns are read in order. The separator (semicolon, comma or tab) is detected automatically. If you would rather not figure it out, click “Заполнить примером” (Fill with an example) and edit the ready-made one.

There is nothing to export: give the sheet “Anyone with the link” access (view only), paste the link, and OG Studio fetches the sheet itself. Edited the sheet? Click “Загрузить таблицу” (Load table) again.

To avoid writing the template and color in every row, set “Стиль для строк без своего” (Style for rows without their own). And if you have already built a cover in the editor, click “Взять стиль из редактора” (Take style from the editor): the template, color, brand and format are pulled in from there. Rows that specify a style keep their own.

An empty headline, an unknown template or a color that is not in #rrggbb format: such a row is highlighted in the preview and does not make it into the archive, while the others are generated. Holiday templates (Halloween, Black Friday, New Year) are available on the holiday dates; outside them, the row will tell you the dates.

Unpack the ZIP and upload the images to your site, product cards or scheduled posts. For WordPress there is the OGImg Covers plugin: it makes covers from post titles, including old posts, and puts them into og:image.
