Frequently asked questions
How is a link cover different from a picture in a post?
A link cover is the preview Telegram shows under a page address; it is taken from the og:image tag. A picture in a post is simply attached to the message. Sizes for posts, avatars and other formats are on the “Telegram image size” page.
How do I add a cover to a link in Telegram?
Download the PNG from the editor, upload it to any hosting (or your own site) and add the OG tag <meta property="og:image" content="URL"> to the page HTML. The preview will appear automatically when you send the link in Telegram.
Telegram shows an old preview. What now?
Telegram caches link previews. To make it pick up the new cover, send the link to the @WebpageBot bot — it refreshes the saved preview.
